Task 4

1. Describe an armed robbery of a jewellery shop from the POV of the gun being used.

"Bang bang" the noise came out from my mouth. I was involved in an robbery at a jewellery shop and I was fascinated by all the jewelleries. To think that they were all mine, I would not have to work for these men anymore.

However, everytime they robbed the bank or shops, I would never ever get a single reward except for some bullets that they feed me. I had worked so hard, vomiting bullets out of my mouth and i would always be hungry. I just do not understand why people always perform chest thrust on me when I am not choking! It feels so painful to vomit out forcefully and living with an empty stomach. Also, I do not understand why people have hold me so tightly? I do not run about and do anything myself. Why must those humans do these things to me as if I am their enemy?

Life have been so hard eating bullets everytime and vomiting them out. Why can't people just feed me something new for example jewelleries? Why are humans so cruel towards me? Do they take me for their slave and are allowed to do anything to me?

If this continues, breaking down would be a sooner or later case. I would never endure all these for my entire life. All I hope for is not to reborn as another gun.

Confessions of a maid

I can remember vividly, when my Madam ago employed me three years ago. I was very grateful towards her as the salary I opted for was higher than average. However, she still employed me among my group of friends that were more experienced and asked for lower salary.

After doing the paper work at the agency, my madam brought me home in her car. It was a BMW and a car that I saw for the very first time in my life. Upon reaching my new home, I was very surprised and could not believe that the three storey bungalow was what I was going to stay at. I counted myself very lucky to be employed and at the same time having such a rich employee. However, I did not know what lies ahead and as soon as I did I rather not be employed by this rich family.

Toys every where, with even broken heads from barbie dolls and cotton protruding from soft toys, I could see how messy my madam's son, Eddie, room was. The room was dark and gloomy, with ripped posters on the walls and debris from toys lying everywhere. My very first task was to clean up Eddie's room in an hour and I really could not believe someone who can live in a room with such conditions. Nevertheless, i cleaned up the room and left it speck and span within an hour and my madam was most impressed with my ability. However, I did not get to meet Eddie as he was in school. A few hours later, madam brought me out in her car, to buy groceries and fetch Eddie from school. Madam checked with me whether I knew how to cook and what I could cook and bought the ingredients for it. We left the supermarket for Eddie's school and waited for him to come out. At first sight, I could recognise Eddie as he really looked like his mother. Except for his unkempt hair, clothes that were stained with mud and his shoes that showed his foot. I could finally see how Eddie could live in his room in the conditions last time.

Upon reaching home, my madam told me to prepare dinner for her and I put in my best effort in doing it as it was my first cooking display and I did not want to disappoint them. Indeed, my efforts were paid off when my madam and sir complimented me on my fantastic cooking. however Eddie did not gave me face and said my cooking was horrible. He strode away without even touching his food and I could hear him slam his door behind him when he entered his room. I soon realise that problems in this house wasn't from the owners of the house but their son, Eddie as he was a trouble maker and did not like outsiders. When I was working there, he gave me a lot of trouble for example he always messes up his room for me to clean it up, stained his clothes and made life miserable for me to scrub them off, and worst of all whenever he broke anything he would put the blame on me and when I was interrogated by Eddie's parents he would laugh behind their backs.

One day, after one and a half year of suffering given by Eddie, I could not take it anymore. I blew my top when I cleaned up Eddie's room and I gave him a smack on his cheek. He couldn't take the pain and broke into tears, followed by calling his parents to complain. I left him in his room and went to my room to pack up my things as I knew I did something wrong and was going to be sent back to my country. However things weren't in my way. when madam reached home after fifteen minutes, she came to me and thanked me for teaching her son a lesson as she could not bring herself to hit her own son and was glad that I did it. I was most surprised and she brought me to her son's room followed by reprimanding her son in front of me.

A few days after I did not step into Eddie's room, I finally peeked into his room. It was totally different from what it was before. It was very clean, bright and simply the opposite of what it was before. I was surprised at his actions during dinner that very day too. Eddie had changed totally after that very day and I was glad he did.

Holiday task 2

(d) The old lady sat alone in her room.

The old lady sat alone in her room of a four storey bungalow. She was sobbing as she recalled of what had just happened 3 hours ago, when she was in the supreme court. Her husband had suddenly died of heart attack a year ago and left her a widow at a age of 78, with nothing but that house which was given to her children during the law suit. With puffy and red wet eyes, she took a last walk around her house and unfortunately slipped and rolled down the stairs.

Holiday Task 2

(b) The room was badly decorated.

I flung the door open as I trotted into my new bedroom. It was decorated dark and gloomy, walls painted with colours that do not match and furnitures arranged in a straight row, covering the windows and not allowing any light or air to flow. My bed was in front of the door and I could hardly had space to squeeze through the door when i had just came in. What shocked me was there was no proper flooring tiles and the ceiling was full of wires dangling down.

Task 1a: Boy found love. Friend stole it.

Sorrowful memories flashed in my mind as I saw a familiar face during my birthday party. As I got closer, I realised it was Donavan, my love rival two years ago when I was in secondary two.

I could still remember very well, on the seventh of march 2006, I got to know a decent girl named Lai Hong. She was a very quiet girl and had rosy cheeks. However she had no right leg but she had a fake leg attached. Soon, I found myself infatuated by her beauty and at the same time sympathised with her and soon felled in love with her. We were in the same batch and the same class so we spent a lot of our time together, even during recess. I just felt that she needed someone to care for her as she looked very pitiful and I was just the right person for her.

I spent time every schooling day, waiting for her outside her house to accompany her to school and back home as I was afraid that if she were to met with any harm, I would blame myself for not protecting her. She also often invites me up to her house to have dinner before going back home and her cooking skills were good indeed. We did not rush things and we let nature take it's course, soon we were very close and I told myself I was very lucky to have such a girlfriend.

However one day, in school, I overheard a group of my friends talking, saying that they saw Lai Hong last Sunday at Tampines Mall shopping mall with another guy, who looked rowdy and was big-size behaving intmately. I did not believed what I had just heard and confronted my best friend there, Alan and before walking away, I threw him a punch.

Days passed and I could not get over and accept the fact that Lai Hong was cheating on me. On one of another Sunday, I decided to stalk Lai hong from her house to get my thoughts right and I was very sure that she would not cheat my feelings after we have gone through so much together. It was then I saw it with my own eyes, Lai Hong hugging the big-sized and rowdy guy Alan described outside her apartment. I could not bear what I had just saw and went straight up to Lai Hong to confront her, asking why is she doing this to me after going through so much thick and thin together? It was then I realised that that big and rowdy guy was my primary school friend, Donavan who was involved in an accident during my primary school days and had not met him till today. It was only then I realised that Donavan also had a fake right leg which I guessed was because of the accident he was involved in. It was then Lai Hong told me, " Raymond, I only want to hear the truth. Do you really loved me or were you only loving me because you sympathised me?" I knew the answer in my heart but I could not bear to say it out. Having to see that Lai hong and Donavan were fated to be together, I gave them my best regards and left.

On the next day, I went to school and saw Alan. I apologised sincerely for what I have done and he forgive me with a treat during recess. I learnt not to jump to conclusions upon hearing or seeing things but to get the facts right before doing anything.
